I test drove a few of the cars on this list and ended up buying a brand new 2024 trax 1RS for $26,000 CAD ($19,000 USD). I'm a city dweller with no need for AWD. The value was by far unbeatable. Decent gas mileage, best looking compact suv in the entire list imo, plenty of room for my family of 4, easy to park in the city for its size. More and more people are starting to realize this little hidden gem of a car. Also,I test drove your "winner" KIA seltos, msrp $32,000 CAD ($23400 USD). Nothing in that car was better than the trax in anyway that was worth the $6000 CAD difference. The corolla cross hybrid ($46,000 CAD) is the only better car imo but it has such unreasonable markup here in Vancouver BC, it makes it not worth considering. In these hard times of economic decline, Trax just makes the best sense to me.

Um both of these have a bad rep VW trans and electrical issues and the Kia engine issues especially on these models couldn’t pay me to take either one with the history.

This is compact suv, not small. Small is like CRV, escape, Rav 4 and etc.

The cx90 phev does have a very clunky shift in EV mode because of the motor being sandwiched better the ice engine and transmission. The interior is far and way better materials and quality than anything Kia.

I'd have the Kia, mainly because of the warranty, but the interior is just richer.

When you consider the fact that a hybrid has a total lifecycle with lower carbon emissions, the answer is clear which is a greener vehicle. The hybrid can be almost completely recycled, while the EV has most of its mass go in a landfill.

I think “better” is a poor question. To me the question is: which has options you really want? Like for me, I need the fold flat passenger seat for hauling sticks of lumber; the trailer hauling for my small utility trailer; the power driver seat because, due to my back issues, I frequently change my seat positions while driving.

I love my Mojave. I have had it for 2 years and love driving it everyday. It’s great in the rain, snow and off road. It’s a great truck.

As a CX30 owner I have heard reviews talking about this hunting of the gearbox but have never experienced it its smooth shifting and never hunts. Switching to Continental or Michelin completely changes the ride on this vehicle as the oem bridgestone's are rocks. It also really doesn't belong in this showdown as it was never meant to compete with any of these suvs.

We have one, and as a daily, I think it’s terrible. However, we replaced our 2015 JK with this, because we needed a small bed for small jobs. We off-road often, and always lift and install bigger tires on our Jeeps. As an off-roader, there’s no better pickup. Going through Moab trails, and local area ORV parks, we never really hung up on breakover angle, but sometimes on the departure. It’s our third vehicle/weekend car - and that should be its purpose.

Great bet it can’t go 20k miles with out 10k in repairs and the value instantly dropping 100k

2014 Legacy here and 11 years and 110K miles later only had to replace a PS pump
